Hi, I’m Grant
I’m a strategy oriented product designer with 20 years of experience. I forge partnerships with business and development teams to deeply understand organizational and customer objectives. I also facilitate workshop sessions to uncover complex challenges and distill them into flow diagrams, user journeys, and other key artifacts that drive decision making. After that, I refine discovery work output into user stories with clear and concise wireframes and acceptance criteria.
My Values
Honesty & Humility
- Aim to solve real and meaningful problems
- Challenge your own assumptions
- Support the best idea, even if you didn’t come up with it
- Empathize with your customers pain points
Ingenuity
- Break down or reframe the problem you’re trying to solve
- Start at the end and work backwards
- Borrow concepts from an unrelated industry
- Every problem is an opportunity in disguise
Flexibility
- Seek out new information, even if it disagrees with you
- Try anything once
- Find opportunities to incorporate new methods
- Pause and re-evaluate the situation
About Me
My wife Sarah and I live in beautiful Hudson, Wisconsin. In my spare time I like to read science fiction, ride my motorcycle, play strategy board games, or tinker with creative projects. I’m currently working with 3D printing and Raspberry Pi computers. Whenever I need of a good dose of inspiration I like to travel.
